Anyone else been following the progress from France?
Despite all the sensationalism in the media that it will explode into a black hole and suck us all into oblivion, the experiment has gone really well so far.
There is a live stream from the control room here : mms://qstream-live.qbrick.com/00862live80910
And a couple of webcams running 24/7 here : http://www.cyriak.co.uk/lhc/lhc-webcams.html

If there is a black hole, nobody will know about it anyway.
If it goes well i guess we learn something but im a little confused about the point of the whole thing.
And i dont need an explanation, ive read a lot on this but i still dont see how its worth the risk.
Many are saying that its been overblown and the black hole could do nothing like that. People are being told they are stupid for worrying and apparently steven hawking has said its safe....
But as its never been done before, nobody can say anything for certain and that is a FACT!
*fingers crossed it goes well =D*

Looking forward to the outcome anyway...should be interesting in what we learn.

Depends if its a learning experience like electricity or hiroshima.....not worth the risk for me

I agree, but i'm itching to know how we were created.
I want to know what came before the big bang.

We already know! Lots of scientists were gathered together, after years of research, just about to fire up their Hadron Collider to see what would happen.......

Hey Mcquiston
Hope this helps you:
Genesis 1:1: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:2: And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Genesis 1:3: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Genesis 1:4: And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
....continued: http://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/Gen/Gen001.html#1
(You can read the rest of the bible there as well)
Also if you read Genesis 6-9, its about Noah and the flood and how he built the ark. Archeologists Claim to Have Found Noah's Ark: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=50857
Obviously a fossil under the ground. But they have found it.
If you read other parts of the bible it will explain heaps. Every so often just read a few verses.
Hope that helps you Mcquiston

Genesis 1:3: And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Wasn't it Bon Scott of AC/DC who said that ???

It's also a media created misconception that this experiment has anything directly to do with big bang.
Big Bang is a norwegian rock band - a quite bad one too I might add - and hardly anything that deserves a several million dollars worth of experiment to study
On a more serious note tho, the experiment seeks to learn more about what happens when protons collide at great speed - no more, no less. Images will be taken of the actual collisions themselves and the resulting particle patterns studied.
