As poor as Scotland have been, they still have a good chance of second. Norway, Macedonia, Iceland and Scotland are all trading results, and the only clear team looking to qualify is Netherlands. If they can pick up, there is a good chance.

I also found out Belgium should have drawn 2-2 with Spain, but were denied a goal for "offside". This goal was scored by Marouane Fellaini, and was actually onside.

How typical is that?

Not sure where it will be, but Belgium were denied a goal for "offside" in 2002 WC against Brazil. We ended up losing 2-0,but we should have lead 1-0.

Belgium's best days were in the 1980s, when I was not born yet. Runners up in Euro 1980 followed with a 4th place at WC 86.

We lost some of our best players after 2002, and had no real quality. However, we now have a squad with plenty of promising youngsters, and a striker who's really on form right now, we are back on the up.

Belgium and Scotland. Belgium, place of birth, lots of family there, Scotland, where I live.

Belgium now have their best squad in years, but have a difficult group with Spain and Turkey (two Euro2008 semi finalists, one being the winner). I notice England didn't have any semi-finalists in their qualifiers

Even if we do get knocked out, we are going to finish before Belguim and Scotland. Well hope so lol

Belgium have an excuse for not qualifying - we were cheated out of a draw against Spain (we lost 2-1, but had a goal wrongly disallowed for offside).

Anyway, watch Belgium over the next few years, a team full of young stars with the potential to all be playing for top clubs over the next few years. Could be our best side since the 1980s were we came 2nd in Euro 1980 and 4th in WC 1986
