In Europe, the teams involved in the playoffs have been decided.

They are as follows: Bosnia-Herzegovina, France, Greece, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Russia, Slovenia and Ukraine. The playoffs will be seeded. The latest rankings are announced on the 16th October. Norway failed to reach the playoffs as they finished bottom of the 2nd placed table.

In South America, Argentina leave it late to qualify with an 84th minute winner against Uruguay. Uruguay are in the playoff.

The North American qualifying has also ended. Uruguay's opponents will be Costa Rica. They finished joint on points with Honduras, but Honduras had a better goal difference. Costa Rica will feel very hard done by, they drew 2-2 away to the USA with the Americans equalizing 5 minutes into injury time.

Costa Rica vs Uruguay (first leg) is on the same day as the second leg between New Zealand and Bahrain, which is currently 0-0. These two matches are played on the 14th November, along with the first leg of the European playoffs. The final games in Africa are also played on the 14th November.

In Africa, six teams fight out the final 3 available places.

Cameroon and Gabon will fight out Group A. Cameroon have 10 pts, Gabon have 9 pts. Cameroon face a final match trip to Morocco, while Gabon are away to Togo.

Tunisia and Nigeria fight out Group B. Tunisia have 11 pts, Nigeria have 9 pts. Tunisia's final game is away to Mozambique, while Nigeria are away to Kenya.

Group C sees Algeria sitting on 13 pts, while Egypt have 10 pts. The two sides will meet in Egypt. Algeria only need a point to qualify, while Egypt must win by at least two goals. If Egypt win by two goals, the qualifier will be decided by a playoff. If Egypt win by three or more, they will qualify.

Very close to say, depends on which France shows up as we know which Ireland will
If we do it'll be 0-0 1-1 something like that..

Yeah just what I was thinking...I'm hoping 1-0 home, 0-0 away...2 clean sheets in a row against henry, benzema and co. will be tough though

i think FIFA should make that there is no seeds just the luck of the draw - gives other teams a chance!

They should. However, they worry about losing money if a big team is missing (France, Portugal), so they do things like seeding Rounds and Groups to benefit the big sides. End of the day, the money is the main thing that matters to them.

Yeah, there would be a lot less cheating (diving) going on!

Typical, bitter Northern attitude that!

I think it'd be a travesty if Ireland didn't go through. Thought it was highly unfair that they weren't seeded after the great campaign they've had. I shall be cheering them on. Be like World Cup 94' all over again!

(Only with England in it this time)

Good luck. Would be great if France and Portugal didn't go through!
