i have noticed that when you hit the balls they roll on more than before,others members agreed,iam finding it hard to hold position,anyone else notice this.

Yup i noticed this too, its annoying when normally you'd know the cue ball would stop just short of the pocket but it just keeps going, but other than that i don't have a problem

think of it as.......playing on a new table

I have increased the maximum FPS allowed for the applet but it shouldn't have effect you like it is.

hi,the java version iam using is,1.1.4.

Thats a very old version, but if its working well then its up to you if you want to update it.

I believe the effect is merely an optical illusion due to the improved graphics (US) and more scalable table (UK).

the tables do seem a little faster to me as well. As tids said- im treating it as if the pub just got a new cloth.

Occasionaly my balls jump a little bit and sometimes they roll too much, sometimes they seem to stop all of a sudden.
I guess its something to do with my pc (which is brand new) as not everyone i speak too is finding it the same

Definitely the same ball speed as always for me.

Increased FPS may give a false feeling of improved speed tho - and even the very opposite.

I've just tried the game in firefox, and there is a marked difference. Also slightly juttery animation, yet no change in IE or Chrome.

I know this *shouldn't* be the case, but it is!

It's not that the table is running more freely, just much quicker, most noticibly in the US games.

I'm playing in FF too - and see no difference what so ever to be honest... Latest Java.

Think I have to agree after all. The ball action seems a bit more pacey than before - then again not sure whether that is an illusion based on the animation being smoother/quicker or if the actual physics simulation get affected by this or not.

I play at extremely low mouse resolution anyways, so I can't use this as an excuse for playing too hard - tho it's tempting

I'm playing in FF, the balls seem to be sliding a bit more than they used to. Not much, but some.

the balls are running normal now,nick changed it back.

I havnt noticed anything using latest IE and Java

the 8 ball uk table is super speedy!! I seem to just tap the balls and they go flying, donno whats up. Rank is evident of this too.

I dont know if any of you have played carom on snooker but that is REALLY quick. The balls roll for ages lol.
