1. Winston Churchill's middle name was "lol".
2. The original Rhett Butler line in Gone With the Wind was not "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." It was meant to go like this:
Scarlett O'Hara: "Where shall I go? What shall I do?"
Rhett Butler: "Lol."
3. The next Die Hard movie, if one is ever made, will be called Die Hard: Lol.
4. We all think the shortest verse in the Bible is "Jesus wept." But this is incorrect due to a translation error from the original manuscript. The correct line is "Jesus said lol."

6. We all know how Robert de Niro ad-libbed his "You talkin' to me?" bit in Taxi Driver. However, Martin Scorsese had originally intended for him to say "lol" as he posed in the mirror.
7. A herd of lions is called a lol.
8. On a regular basis, the 999 dispatch office runs a drill. A trained expert rings the number and, when asked which emergency service he/she wants, says "lol". A fullscale red alert then swings into operation.
9. If you play Cliff Richard's Millennium Prayer backwards, you can clearly hear the word "lol" being chanted throughout.
10. "They think it's all over.. it is now!" Wrong... The original thing said by Kenneth Wolstenholme after England made it 4-2 against Germany in the 1966 World Cup final was "They think it's all over, lol!" Nobody had a clue what he meant at the time, so the BBC quickly got him to re-record a more acceptable line, and the whole thing was edited and passed off without notice in time for the evening news.
