I play for my local pool team on a Thursday night, and about 5 years ago pool used to be played with "old rules" for example:

- White ball any were in the "D".
- No 2 shot carry.
- You are not allowed to pick the ball up (unless you go inoff of course!)

They are just a few rules playing with "old rules"

"New rules" are exactly the same as played on here except one, were in our games for example i broke off and potted a red i would have to tell the referee what ball i was nominating. So if a red went down and i nominated a "red" and missed i would be on reds, but if i went for a yellow and missed then it would become "open table again" but of course if i potted then i would be on yellows.

But on here it's different for example i broke off and potted a red i am automatically on reds but the rules in my league state that it is still open table and you can choose what ever ball you want even if a yellow or a red went down.

But if you don't nominate the referee calls a foul (strict inooo!)

I hope you understand all of that ^^. But I'm basically asking what rules do you play? That rule what i stated above might just be a rule what the league association have brought of their own. :S. But i like that rule other than this rule on here. As you get a choice and could be better for run outs etc...

It is better for run outs- i got a run out like that a couple of weeks back in the pub =D

My local leagues play the same rules even down to having to nominate or two shots.
I think customisable rules for friendlys would be a great feature..... there was a thread before about that and i think this is perfect for that.

It is an official rule round here.

Another is that when you have free ball you can put the ball anywhere in the D only and you may only shoot forwards. Cant shoot backwards

Cheers- it was great fun

They sound like old rules to me, the rules in my league are new rules witch include putting the ball anywhere you want behind the line (witch is in place here) and you can shoot forward or backwards (witch is also in place here). Witch is clear we are playing "new rules" here except for making it open table no matter what the out come is after break off.

Maybe they are old rules? I havent played since i got barred about two years back.

They were the rules at the time though. The rack was a lil different also, it had the tick at the bottom so it went

red
yellow yellow
red red yellow
yellow black yellow red
red red yellow red yellow

The rack what is in place on funky is exactly the same in pool leagues, so you was playing old rules mike.

(lmao at getting barred you nutter!)

So "new rules" is missing just one thing. (on here)
