I've not created this to get your money - more of an awareness thing. And to also show what some people do to raise money for charity.

http://www.justgiving.com/enduringeagle

The link above is all in aid of cancer research. My friend, Matt Cryer is doing the insanely stupid thing of walking 200 miles - then biking a further 1500 miles from New York State to Miami!
(I'm told it's very very hot there at the moment)

If you have the money then feel free to donate. If not then feel free to take this link and pass on to those who you feel might be able to give.

I also wanted to highlight what you can do to raise money. Personally I don't have the time to be able to take part in something as extravagent as this bike ride - however I do organise charity events with college and am part of a local fund raising group, all our money goes to a local children cancer ward. (Leicester Hospitals Charity)

Thanks for taking time to read this.

at least your friend is doing something difficult.

My mum raised £600 for cancer research last week by going to guernsey and watching the tide come in and out for 12 and a half hours.

lol

Hope his challenge goes well and he raises a lot

It's hard for alot of people to find time to do charity events. I know myself how hard it can be to organise! Only through the support of tutors and peers at college am I able to do things myself - even then I struggle!

We can also use this thread to create ideas for charity events if you so wish. I know me and the girls at college brainstorm ideas every now and then. So far we've done a walk from Leicester City Centre, we walked around town first to get money in our buckets. We done a cake sale, and also a games day where we charged people to play on the xbox and ps2! We've got a car wash coming up soon - i refused to do it in nipple tassles and thong............ but am sure it would raise money if I did..............

Personally I don't think it matters what you do - so long as you're raising money!
