Does anyone else get a moments lag before cue ball hits object ball when playing 8 ball. I only seem to get it when I am not using the new dark blue table. Just wondered if anyone else experienced the same and knew why?

It's a sound issue. Try disabling sounds and trying again.
It's not more likely to occur for 1 table over another but you may find that after you flick between tables there's a short delay as the sound capabilities are "woken up".

I had the same issue and solved it by upgrading to java run-time environment version 1.6.x
After the latest updates the game doesn't run well on older JRE versions at all so make sure to upgrade!
(although it sounds very reasonable that it is related to the ball-hit-ball shound being called, turning off sound made zero difference when I had this problem)

You can upgrade your java at http://www.java.com/en/
Or you can right click on the icon at bottom right of your screen and go direct to there site..
Just click on free java download and it will test your current version and give you a new 1
I hope that helps anyone who is having problems .

Yes, having the latest possible Java version seems increasingly important after the last few months of game updates. Solved several issues for my part at least.

I recently had a new problem. After taking the cue swing it took 2 seconds for the cue cue to hit the ball. Bearing in mind i had released the mouse and waited to see if the shot registered.

The latest version of Java runs funkypool fine. If you're having problems it sounds like you have a system error.
Try the following (spinner's famous remedy):
- Go to control panel
- Add remove programs
- Remove all the java versions you see (there may be more than one).
- Clear browser histories including downloaded program files/plugins
- Visit http://update.microsoft.com to ensure windows is up to date and malware scan is run
- Reboot (even if you're not told to)
- Then visit http://www.java.com for a new, clean, install.

OK. I misunderstood this problem. Basically I believed it to be a delay between cue connection and white ball animating.
However it was when the cue ball hit the first ball that caused the problem. This was due to the image of the first hit ball in the top right corner being created at that point (no noticeable time on fast machines).
I've changed the code so it will be immediate.
