I thought the lag problems while playing had been sorted but it seems they are back. Is it anything to do with so many flashing adverts ? I tried to turn them off but cant seem to do it .

have you tried to disable add-ons through tools?

Right click on the advert > Quality > Low


There is a way to turn them off altogether, but I can't remember how.

that just olters the graphic of them. Nothing eles.

thanks for the advice .... tried a few different things but it doesnt seem a way to disable them . but - it seems to be running okay right now . it might have been a temporary glitch , but it was affecting a few of us at the time . thanks again.

Which also would reduce lag, as it doesn't have to process as much graphic

But getting to a stage where you jusr cant play. for me the o2 advert is the worst,. but about the lag i really do think something needs to be done.

Ok, we've had the discussion since the dawn of time (well, pool sharks anyway ) but first and foremost thing to remember is that lag is caused by your own system, and is nothing to do with the game.

Check to be sure you don't have any other programs running. MSN/Live messenger is especially bad, as are spyware/adware scanners etc.

Also, make sure you have the latest version of Java and your OS is fully up to date, especially the Graphics drivers.

If your system is still lagging after this, you can go to tools>manage add-ons>enable or disable and disable flash animations. (Instructions for IE7, other browsers are similar)

Trying different browsers can also help, IE7 is generally the best, though some systems work better with Firefox, just try and see.

If this still doesn't help, there are a few known issues with older versions of Java and ATI graphics card drivers etc, so post your details and we'll see what we can do.


Edit - just caught the O2 one and it does break guidelines, hopefully be removed soon.

Yeah thats is spinner, the only ad that gives me problem like i said above is the o2 glad you seen it to bud.

O2 is now removed from the game pages.

sky talk unlimited ad is causing the same problems - can probably disable flash player to get round it - but just to mention it.

these ads are torture when playing. I know a couple people stopped playing cos of the lagg and the ads from the update last week or so.

Something needs be done, otherwise will lose users.

I tried a Ad blocker, That didn't stop the lag for me! so it was my computer
so if you don't want lag I recommend you clean your computer every day..

Best way is to download Cleanup Or CCleaner or maybe both. both very good programs to remove old junk from your computer.

ditto the sky broadband ad

i've had that o2 add which slow my comp down but i've got a way around that so the adds still show without slowin the comp down and thats removin activeX. the best way is removin activeX before u bring the game window up. doin that will show the adds still but as a gif pic.

Uninstall flash player...that stops the monster lag ads

Got a solution people i can use msn messenger,facebook,etc whilst still playin with no problem at all. i suddenly noticed today that i was lagging and this has never happend to me before and i have been a member for some time not as long as some but quite a while anyway i noticed i had my avast on-access scanner off and when i turned it back on lagging suddenly stopped all together. i dont know why, im just guessing it has some advert running prevention or something but it seems to do the job
