Manwee don't talk about players diving for penalties... remember the last OF game and the hideous penalty award that samafarce missed that cost your mob the league. I don't think i'll ever stop laughing at that.

CHAMPIONS!

Don't ever count your chickens especially after 1 game... remember the shambles at ICT and the infamous kicking of the bottles by NL. Priceless for everything else there is Mastercard!

It's about time Celtic were brought to task over the IRA chants. Yet again they were doing it at the Hibs game and nothing was said.

We get pulled up by some unknown organisation with Celtic connections (AKA Mr Powers and his cronies). You just couldn't make it up.

Yes your right celtic should get punished, but then Rangers are still singing anti-catholic songs like the songs being sang yesterday and nothing has been said.

The song celtic sang today was a chant of ooh ah up the ra, while the songs rangers sang was The famine(which is a racist song and aimed at irish catholics) and the sash(which celebrates a victory of the killing of catholics).

So you tell me which is worse?

Also do you know how the term 'we are the people' came from? Its about the victory of the British army over the irish in the 1900's where they slaughtered many innocent people just to take over their land, and it is still allowed to be chanted and a chant that is used often, even on this thread.

It was a game that was supposed to celebrate former Stirling Albion owner and chairman Peter McKenzie. However the testimonial was overshadowed by an element of Rangers fans singing sectarian songs.

Stirling Albion had to issue a warning to a section of the Rangers support over singing during the first half of the match, including an announcement over the PA system at half time.

A spokeswoman for Central Scotland Police said There was sectarian singing from a section of the visiting support, leading to warnings from the club during the first half. Towards the end of the half there was discussion between police and the club about pausing the match to allow further warnings to be delivered. It was decided to wait a short time and deliver such warnings at half time. This was done by the club. At no time did the police recommend that the match be called off.

The Central Scotland Police spokeswoman added Increased policing and stewarding during the second half led to a reduction in this behaviour. The focus of police was to ensure the safety of all people attending and no arrests were made at the time.

Events will, however, be subject to further review including liaison with clubs via the Association of Chief Police Officers Scotland football sub group. It is disappointing that so-called fans have seen fit to disrupt this event and to tarnish the name of their club in this way.

Fans were also warned about setting flares off as well as fireworks.

I agree Rangers 'fans' also sing sectarian songs. The point I was getting at was if it is to be dealt with properly then all teams should be punished accordingly. When was the last time Celtic were punished?

The Sash (as much as I disagree with it being sung) is not sectarian. It is a political song, as proved in a court of law a few years ago.

I did not know that about 'We Are The People'. Might look it up. Next you'll be telling me 'Penny Arcade' is bad :O

I like that song!
It served a good cause last season, raising a lot of money for the childrens hospital. (always a fantastic cause)

more sectarian than any of the others mentioned above - I remember reading a post not so long ago http://www.funkypool.com/thread/17869/new-sectarian-laws-please-read that this chat would be banned from forums - all it does is drag up old wounds that are trying to be healed atm

can forum moderators please moderate these properly - as there are people from BOTH sides of the community as well as foreign nationals who have been INNOCENT VICTIMS and songs from EITHER SIDE whether supporting a parimilitary group "highlighted above" or singing about a famine that killed thousands should not be spoken about or tolerated on these forums.

Goian deal is almost complete and he should be signed in time to face Malmo tomorrow as a wildcard signing.

As a nice breath of fresh air two teams likely to be at the end of the table which isn't soiled with bigotry and hatred take to the stage on Sky Sports tonight.

Stand and take note of real football fans.

Just heard this on STV News

David Goodwillie's court case has been dropped.

Wonder if this now opens the way for Rangers to make a bid for him?

Anyone think Hearts can split the old firm this season? Personally i dont think they will but i think they have a better chance this season than they have in a few years.

Also good luck to Dunfermline tonight its good to see them back in the SPL and also good luck to Rangers in their game against Malmo it would be good to see them qualify Scottish football needs a lift and we need scottish teams doing well in Europe, but for Rangers hopefully not too well lol, group stage will do.
