Rather than just having the sound on or off would it be possible and a good idea to be able to adjust the volume.
Thought it was a good idea becuase I like my music loud but I dont want the noise of the table to be as loud.

While it's a good idea, can't you achieve the same by adjusting the volume on whatever music player you are using? Or is it capping?

What he means is when he's having a desktop rave he doesn't want to hear the balls going into the pocket etc, as for the idea its a cracker!

My point is that what you want is to differentiate the volume between your music and your pool game.
If you want to get your music louder compared to your game, you can either 1) turn down the game (which you currently can't) or 2) turn up your music (which you can)
If that brings the music (and table) both to too high levels, then corrent it by adjusting down the overall volume (either in software or physically on your speakers) afterwards.

Judgement is right, I was gonna post saying you can do it like that, but I couldn't remember how exactly..
But this is only if you have Vista I think, not sure though.
