Reggae Cowboys
Fusing the lilting rhythms of the Caribbean with the outlaw imagery of the wild west, the Reggae Cowboys were formed in Toronto, Ontario in late 1993 by singers/guitarists Bird "Stone Ranger" Bellony and Aljernon Delano "Click Masta Sync" Rabess, both natives of the West Indies. Subsequently adding bassist Roy "Gully" Clarke, keyboardist Marshall King and drummer Hitman I, the Reggae Cowboys debuted in 1996 with Tell the Truth; Rock Steady Rodeo followed a few years later. 2001 found the Reggae Cowboys performing at festivals all over North America and France. Jack Drag
Jack Drag was the lo-fi alias of John Dragonetti, a Boston-based singer/songwriter who recorded his material as a solo performer but added bassist Joe Klompus and drummer Fred Elteringham to the ranks for live appearances. Jack Drag's eponymous debut -- a quirky collection ranging from ethereal dreampop to Wall of Sound-inspired symphonies -- appeared in 1996. Unisex Headwave followed in 1997, and a year later the trio signed to A&M, soon issuing their major label debut Dope Box.
