Goodluck
You need to learn code and trust me, there's a lot to learn...especially for a mafia game. Type in HTML coding help or something. That will teach you the basics. Do you have software to code the game in?

So you want to make your own game but have no idea where to start.
Lookup HTML. I think Dreamweaver can even be used?
Lots to learn though, i'm no game maker but i've attempted one, i'm telling you, it's tough.

Try java
Unfortunately, to be able to make even the 'simple' games that you play on the web requires a hell of a lot of time and effort bundled with knowledge of a high level programming language such as Java although i have seen visual basic being used create small games like donkey kong etc..

Good site to get you learning html and all that.. but if you have dreamweaver, you probably won't need to know that much HTML..

Java is a option but still hard. You can get code snipets though like a simple chatroom etc but nothing good for a mafia game. Once you learn HTML or php etc which will take ages to do, you will have to sort out domain and hosts etc. If you create a game at a good standard at your age Jack, I'll be astounded!
Do a simple forum or something. I'm doing that at the moment and I've come across some problems just with the hosts. I've got to upload the forum to the site yet!

What language you want to use will depend on the kind of game you want to develop, but whatever direction you're taking, it will take time to learn enough to build a game from scratch.
If you just want to pull a game together quickly, something like this may be more up your street : http://www.yoyogames.com/gamemaker/
If you want to start learning to code "properly", i think squeak ( http://www.squeak.org/ ) is a brilliant idea. Its Object Orientated from the start, so migration to java etc isn't that big a jump.

Just a text based game using php and all that jazz
Bit short of ideas at the moment, but im working on sample scripts that would work in the same way as in the game.
I'm thinking of having some features similar to TMS, just without the spelling mistakes, and hopefully better lol
But it wont be a mafia game lol
