Got the idea from the concede button thread.

Why does the game stop when an opponent leaves over here. I understand that 99/100 there is nothing to play for but more than once i've been on the black for a run out and the opponent has left and resulting in me not getting the run out. Similarly with 7ball's.

If a run out is on and the opponent leaves, the game surely should not stop.

Should be the same as snooker in my opinion, id say ive lost at least 3 or 4 runouts because of this.

EDIT: and im not talking about 9ball run outs, mainly uk ones

i couldnt agree more,ive been meaning to post this thread myself,its really annoying when players just leave when you are on run outs,why cant you carry on like snooker?

the best idea that ever gets mentioned here- i've created this thread myself in the past if my memory serves me well (which it doesnt always)

Yep, have made a point or two on this before, and totally agree.

Only sore losers leave when an acheivment could be won, and that spoils it for the large majority.

I agree too.

If someone leaves, you should still be able to carry on potting your balls until you miss or foul, then you should get the win - This way, you can still get your 7 ball or run out.

Although it would be so much easier if the players just treated it like the fun game site its meant to be rather than glorified competitive tournaments / games in which winning is the matter of life or death.

I.e. I am not mentioning any names here, but there are a certain few people, they say 'gg' whenever they win, when you win, they just walk out, no gg or anything, they just leave...
Now what does this prove..

Another thing I would like to add (and I am going to get moaned at here I know!) but.. Why is there a need to limit someone by rank or walk out when someone higher or lower ranked than you joins your game. Everyone is entitled to play a random opponent who is online. If you are a good player, surely you are strong enough to win regardless of who you play?

I see your point but it's the chance a lower ranked player might get a golden break or.... you by mistake you foul on the black given the lower ranked oppnent a hefty amount of points

All together it's how confident you are.

True... But it's not all about points.
It's about having fun and meeting players, different players.

Some people are flukey, others are unlucky.
By a high ranker refusing to play someone just because they're low ranked... this is an online game.

If it wasn't... then in real life this would be discriminating as you are refusing to do so much as talk to a person who is low ranked or not as good. It's not about what you can do. Everyone is here because they want to be.
By limiting yourself as to who you can play, is being irresponsible.
I have been around on funkypool and funkysnooker since they opened and on pool sharks (poolgame.co.uk) since 2003.
There was never a problem with people leaving back then, it's a recent thing and it's getting stupid.

Come on folks, can we please start having some sensible games. If you lose against a low ranker, what does it matter. You lose points?? Whoopeeee, you are still alive and it's even more of a challenge to get them back right?

A lot of folk want to play equal rank, more chance of a good game.

no but we're not racing, this is a game and we both have an equal chance of winning no matter who we are

It just spoils what should be a good game, by some of our lower ranked users having to wait up to 5-10 minutes to find an opponent that is willing to play them.

Seriously though, if everyone played everyone, everyone could have fun.
Ranked points are there as a challenge, if you can't beat a lower ranked person, then you do not deserve to be 1st place imo.

Isn't a coin flip, it isn't 50/50.

Nobody wants to get hammered, I've had folk refuse to play me when i been ranked nobody rants about that. And it's boring to play someone that you are going to beat 19 out of 20 times.

Nicknax ~ I see your point. I'm crap at the game but still play a lil,and ive joined higher ranked players (not knowing their rank till ive gone in room) and they have left rudely!! Its got that way that when i enter a game i tend to ask if my rank is ok to play. Some say yeah sure no prob, Some say no sorry its too low so i leave, but yeah i defo see your point. Us 'LOW RANKERS' will never get anywhere if they 'HIGH RANKERS' are scared to lose a few points.

That said, i can see the view of those wanting a challenge....to play me and win in a matter of seconds is no good for a higher ranked player lol.

Back to main topic..
