well heres an idea ive thought for a while
I spent ages trying to find a user for me lets say the user poo for example if u wanted to be called that im sorry but you cant because its already been taken but member has not played any games yet so whats the point of creating a user when your not going to play so why dont you delete there user there not going to play and people can register a new user more easier.

This has been discussed a few times in the past, and its generally well recieved.
I believe something similar may be coming in the fututre, to clear out old inactive accounts and free the names up for new members.

Just because this user 'poo' or any other persons that doesnt play doesnt mean that they have to be deleated, they might come on her often to chat to their friends or something like that, i dont play any games but im still on here, most of the junkies of here are like that!

but dont forget the last login feature they might not of logged in for months so they deserve to be deleted.
And the member's should have a warning email sent like if you do not log in for the 6 weeks you account will be removed.

As long as the expiration time is set high enough (6+ months imo, but whatever), I see no problem in deleting old accounts.
And in the rare cases where an old school user wants to leave for a year (service or whatever) and wants his account protected, simply add a flag that the admins can toggle to protect that user from auto deletion.

good idea in a way....BUT imagine if quick_pot stopped logging in or anybody who is really well known around the site. There are so many problems with well known names being retaken i cant be bothered to go into it. Maybe there could be some kind of "status" you can reach so your account stays forever-
I.E/ being a mod for over a month, being top of overall for a few weeks or top of anything for a few weeks, having over 500 posts on the forum, etc etc.
Things that will make people remember you- i mean imagine if somebody else had had paulas justsumgirl name when she deleted and went onto the forums.......lol

reusing names should be out of the question. Would still been good to delete old profiles tho, to get a more correct number of active players.

I think all the accounts such as *josh *poo* *champ* should be deleted cause they all created accounts way back in 2004 so its a bit obvious that they ain't ever going to log in so what I'm trying to say is every account saying *member has not played any games* should be deleted so people who want them names can finally have them.
So if a member creates an account and hasn't been active for say 2 weeks it will get automatically deleted.

Just logging in too chat in forums will show up when you last logged in, so even if nobody has actually opened the pool game window to chat in there, it will still say when they last logged in.

There are LOADS and LOADS of names that have signed up tho and never LOGGED in since.
I think they should be removed, or the ones that havent logged on for over 2yrs.
Doesnt matter about play, as some log in to chat only.
