Running three tournaments as im trying to do at the minute (or was trying to do) is proving pretty difficult. 20 messages a day is ok if your just writing inane messages to ya mates but when you need to message more people than that to tell them of new fixtures/remind them of deadlines/generally harass them to get their games played its really hard.

All i was thinking was either increase the daily messaging limit or put an option on the send message feature so you can send one message to multiple people and only use one message for it.

For example if i have just produced a new set of fixtures for the team tourny i need to send 17 messages to tell everyone, sometimes people have a question and im finding i keep reaching the daily limit... even if its kept at 20 messages but with an option to send one message to numerous people that would be great!

Also thought it might be good if we could edit messages like forum posts so you dont use so many and can correct any errors.

yes, great idea. I had the same problem when running my 'Northern Hemisphere v Southern Hempisphere' tournament....

i agree....say, a limit of 5 people you can one message to (to avoid spamming by other users) and maybe increase the message limit to say 30 or even 50 after 100 messages without breaking any rules.

Maybe have an option there to apply to admin for them to grant higher daily limits if you can justify to them why you need it - even if it was only for a fixed length of time?

just an idea - obviously not sure if the programming allows any variations to be made to individuals.

well i just ran out of messages whilst sending out the first set of fixtures to 21 people. After a couple of replies plus one random message i ended up sending the last few on here....is there no way of putting some kind of broadcast message on dave to selected people so i could just say- "these are the fixtures" for people who dont follow the thread.

I needed that edit message button as well just now....any feedback from an admin? Please? lol

ive got three replies on this account that i cant reply to until this time tomorrow without switching accounts- when the doubles tournys are running again ill need 10 accounts on fixture day!

so......any kind of input from spinner or someone in charge would be great!

You shud, (just for now of course) Creat a thread and let those you need to msg know about it. Inform them that until u get feedback regarding the messaging service, they shud see the named thread daily or W/E, that way, you can leave Q + A posts.

well this week i havent messaged anyone their fixtures and just left them on the thread and 4 days later not a single frame has been played.......i might just stop running tournaments if an admin doesnt acknowledge this thread soon

Next patch I'll bump it up to 100 for people with forum posting abilities.

Sending 1 message to many would be good but the limits would remain the same even in this case (ie 1 message to 50 recipients would count as 50 messages). This is because the system is in place to stop spamming (eg advertising).
