yeah I know what you mean and it sucks when it happens, I'm just trying to be a bit realistic as to how often this happens. Most of the time, a random shot fails to hit anything at all or hit a wrong ball softly.

Besides, if it does slam a frame wide open, keep in mind that the opponent, had he played his shot within the time limit, would have had the option of doing just that willingly anyway.

A random shot very very rarely, if ever, does anything the player couldn't deliberately done by a manual shot anyways, the rare exception being when a legal, "impossible" shot actually pots his own ball(s).

They are ok as they are, but giving someone a carry just because your opponent nipped to the toilet or somethng would be just simply stupid..

no its not.....im a big advocate for eliminating the random shot for just a hand over....

if your opponent has gone to the toilet, then why sholdnt they be punished for leaving the game?

Look at the SNooker tournament on TV. If trhe shot clock runs out, the referee doesnt go up and randomly pots the white ball or whatever....its just a hand over.

People who are demolishing their opponents in tournaments lose games due to random shots sometimes. Like in UK 8 ball, if your opponent is away and then a random shot is played, you are forced to miss your shots because of a bad angle or so and then your opponent has a few easy shots and wins!

scrap the random shots.....

I think that nick should build a servey for members to complete and at the same time, give a few ideas in that severy for poeple to 'agree' or 'dasagree' with...like the idea of scrapping the random shot rule....it will make more people happy if their ideas are herd.

All ideas are heard and listened to.............

Surveys do nothing for anyone, other than annoy the person who has to read it!

Random shot should stay. I use to against it, but I think it's part of what makes Funkypool, Funky!
