The answer is... Vincent Auriol, president from 1947 to 1954. René Coty succeeded him until 1959. Leon Blum was chairman of the Provisional Government for a month before Auriol, having succeeded him also. (Auriol was interim chairman for a month before that.) De Gaulle succeeded Coty in 1959 as President of the Fifth French Republic.
