Alex, you have only one lifeline left, and that is Ask the Audience. You have nothing to lose in this question, so relax and take a look at it.

I havent a clue i was afraid it was going to be an entertainment one. Seeing as ive guarenteed that much ill take a wild guess because i doubt the audiance would know.

Well i know gone with the wind, and one flew over the cuckoos nest are classics, the silence of the lambs is iconic.

Not heard of the other as such so on that basic ill go with

A) It happened one night

*Keeps fingers crossed

It's gone to orange!!!

All four movies won Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Screenplay; specifically, it was the Adapted Screenplay that each won. The movie that missed out, therefore, fell in the Best Actor category.

Anthony Hopkins won Best Actor for The Silence of the Lambs, so it managed to win the "Big Five". Therefore it's not the correct answer.

Before that, Jack Nicholson won Best Actor for One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest. So that leaves the two movies from the 30's.

Aren't you excited???

Believe it or not, Clark Gable was nominated for both It Happened One Night and Gone With The Wind. And the one he didn't win the Oscar for, and therefore the answer to the question, is........

Gone With The Wind.

1934 movie It Happened One Night completed a clean sweep of the five major Awards, the only ones it was nominated for, with Clark Gable, Claudette Colbert, director Frank Capra and screenplay Robert Riskin all being honoured. Five years later, although Gone With The Wind was nominated for thirteen Awards and won eight (out of maximum of twelve - two of its actresses were against each other in Best Supporting Actor with one winning), including Vivien Leigh for acting, Victor Fleming for direction (beating Frank Capra) and the late Pulitzer Prize-winning Sidney Howard (who was pinned against the wall by his own 2.5 ton tractor while trying to crank the engine, six months before the ceremony) for writing, Clark Gable missed out to Robert Donat in Goodbye, Mr. Chips, who also defeated no less than Laurence Olivier and James Stewart.

And after that impromptu arts lesson, it is my leaden and morose obligation to inform you that you have got that question wrong. But well done, you leave with £50,000!!!!!!!
