Hell cloone - if this for £150K what would the £1M question be like??!!!!

Think they have all been Chechnyan rebels and I think most have been killed as well.

However luckily for me (although I didn't think that at the time) I was in Moscow a number of times between 2003 and 2006 and I think it was Maskhadov so I will go with A) and happily leave with £50K if its wrong

It's gone to orange!

They are all dead...

It wasn't Shamil Basayev, he was killed in 2005 and he wasn't president. His explosive-laden car hit a pothole. OR, (officially,) the Russians blew it up by remote control, depending on which side you believe.

It wasn't Dzhokhar Dudayev; the first President of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria died back in 1996 after the Russians picked up signals from his satellite phone and launched a guided missile at him!

Akhmad Kadyrov switched sides and joined the Russians and became a pro-Moscow President of Chechnya, before being blown up in a football stadium in 2004.

All of which leaves Aslan Maskhadov, who was killed in a bunker during an attack in March 2005. Consequently, Putin awarded medals to those responsible.

But don't mess with the Chechens! Look what happened to a few traitors, turncoats and collaborators here: http://www.kavkaz.org.uk/eng/content/2004/03/12/2505.shtml

At the end of it all, you've answered correctly, and you're up to £150,000!

Don't go away, I'll be right back with Question 10!

It's right! You're up to £250,000!!!!!

The most famous use of the Latin vocative is the apocryphal valediction from Caesar (shouldn't his name be pronounced "Kaiser"?) to Brutus: "Et tu, Brute?" Brutus is being spoken to, and therefore, Latin grammar dictates that his name in the vocative be used. Brutus in the vocative is Brute. The closest thing in English to a vocative making itself distinct from the nominative is the particle "o" or "O" or "Oh":

O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? -- Galatians 3:1 (King James version).

The "foolish Galatians" are being addressed in this line, and therefore "O" is used. Modern English would insert "You" or drop the O completely.

We'll take a break! Join us in a bit, cos Chris is two questions away from a million!

---------Commercial Break---------------

And in other news..... Snow all over Pennsylvania, USA! Many (or a few, rather) Funky members are snowed in! Says one such member: "I spend all my time on Funkypool now because I can't go anywhere!" Well, we're not disappointed, are we?

More news.... Mr. Rogers' questionable clip has appeared all over the world! The elderly USA TV host has appeared in a clip with censored dialogue. Quite a shock to USA members everywhere, but simply funny to everyone else.

LIVE! Funky members agree that Clooneman's clues are too obscure when it's his turn!

Back to you.

When we last left you, Chris had just answered a question on Grammatica Latina, or Latin grammar, for £250,000. But he had to use a second lifeline. He's just two away from the million and he has his phone-a-friend lifeline left.

Chris, take a look at Question 11 and see what you think. You can walk away now with ¼ ofa million, but if you get it wrong you lose 200k!!! Get it right and you're up to hall a mill. Have a look and see what you think.

---------£500,000---------
