Right, we managed to do this online, potty went for Ask the Audience. 1 said A, 1 said B, 3 said C and no-one said D. Pothead went for C, said "Final answer please, Chris" and... got it right! The Republic of New York never existed, ever. The others all did in the 19th century for periods lasting between one month to 10 years. Time for another question......

Q1 £500
Q2 £1,000
Q3 £2,000
Q4 £5,000
Q5 £10,000
Q6 £20,000
Q7 £50,000
Q8 £75,000 <---- answered correctly
Q9 £150,000 <---- next question
Q10 £250,000
Q11 £500,000
Q12 £1 million

You're just 4 right answers away from a million squid. Question 9 is worth 150 grand. Get it right and you double your money. Get it wrong and you lose 75,000. You have 50/50 and Phone/Ask/Implore/Beseech/Supplicate/Badger/Annoy a friend left.

------£150,000------

Another bit of online jiggerypokery, a friend was asked! And A was decided upon! The answer is.....

A! The Merchant of Venice. You are up to £150,000.

I'm taking a small break to imagine what pot_the_lot might look like in the flesh but I'll be back in minutes to ask Question 10!

So, we resume with Gorgeous having answered 9 questions right and being just three questions away from sinking the big one. Pots, you have one lifeline left, and that is the fiddy-fiddy.

Have a look at Question 10, and terrify yourself with the stifling knowledge that if you get it wrong, you lose thirty-three-and-one-third percent of your winnings. Get it right, however, and you're up to £¼ of 1,000,000! See what you think.

------£250,000------

You can indeed!

And to make sure we can all see the question is randomly drawn, and that I just don't start picking from the wrong answers (cos then you'll know what the right answer is), I'll pick two random answers from all four, and then they'll be the right and wrong answer. If they're both wrong, then the two not picked are the right and wrong answer. Either way, a wrong answer is randomly selected from the three to be paired with the right answer, and no-one knows what the right answer is.

The random selection will take place, or will have taken place, at http://www.chatzy.com/524848458019
