just an idea.

marathon tournaments. they do take a long time and you have your mind set to hang in there for a copule of hours.

but what if in the marathon tournaments ON WEEKENDS ONLY in the FINAL ONLY were to finish a bit like a tennis match at the Australian Open or Wimbledon.

That is that in the final set of the match (so on here, it would be the final), there is no tiebreak at 6-6...but it is the person to win by 2 games first.

so I remember someone at the Aus. Open last year who won in the 5th set at something like 13-11.

This way, the 2 people in the final would really have to earn their crown harder than ever before. It would not work in earlier rounds because then it might just go to long...so it would have to be the final only...and only on weekends.

maybe we could start like a one month trial and see how it goes. It would work best I think if it was for all marathon tournaments on saturdays and sundays so the whole world can play in them

I like the idea, not that I'll ever get a chance to participate cause I have a 3 year old, but definatly something I'd like to see. I do think it'd have to be a monthly thing, so its not over-used!

thats the point of it. you have to have your mind set...so, getting to the final may take and hour and a half to 2 hours and with this addition, the final may take another hour or so...depending on how close the games are.
