No idea, we could give it a trial and see how it goes if everyone else likes it. Doesn't bother me how many people get slaughtered though

But to be honest with you, I dont really like it as some players just log on to play tournaments so it wouldnt be fair as it would be first come, first served.

Maybe if we capped it at some ridiculas amount...say 128. I may be wrong again but I never see 128 in tournaments but if there was a massave surge in numbers, dont want more than 127 competetors in my tournaments, or it takes to long after that

Thats right, snooker tourneys are capped at 64 and pool tournaments are capped at 256 entrants.

I dont know how many entrants have been in the past, but i would guess 128 has been surpassed at times.

New ideas for tournaments are always welcome. It would certainly be possible to run 64 person tourneys, perhaps this would be suited to extended marathon layouts with a lot more games?

that seems very sensible.

it is hard enough as it is if you have to go through 3 or 4 rounds of marathon 8 ball US or UK then get to the quarters to find that there are more games to be played. The longest I have had to be in a marathon tournament is around 2 hours, and by then, I have other things that I would like to do.

ill stay with you aflumpfire to have first come first served i find is unfair.
