Might be the speed of your router.
From what I know most wireless connections run slower than a lan cable.
I'm sure someone will be along soon to help you out.

You need some new RAM?
Why would this slow your computer down?
Yes wireless networks are generally slower than wired networks.

A lack of RAM will certainly slow your computer down (running windows XP with 128Mb for example) so if you're in that position, upgrading to 256 or 512Mb would be a very worthwhile investment.
As for the wireless router, no, the computers speed will not affect this in the same way it can with a dialup or ADSL software modem (I've never heard of a software wireless router, but it *is* remotely possible!
What will most likely limit your wireless speed will be the reciever. It will have an 802.11 number on it somewhere, and if its an 802.11b, it will be slower (equivalent to a 2Mbps LAN connection.) An 802.11g connection, however, can sustain a throughput of 54Mbps so is ample support for most home broadband speeds.
There are other standards, but b and g are by far the most common.
