in 8 ball game, why the game just randomly rack the balls?
i think it would be better if the balls were properly racked in 8 ball

I see good points for it and others against it but good idea

it randomly racks the balls so you cant do a golden break everytime- though i agree that you could still have a proper layout and not be able to golden break everytime

I've always wondered this myself! And on 9 ball as well - the one needs to be in front, then 2 and 3 behind it, and so on, with the 9 ball in the middle. That's how it's racked properly when I play, anyway.

How does whatever order, effect your chances of getting a golden break?

The actual order of the balls doesnt effect a golden break.
but if you go on the practice table and click the rack button a few times you will see the balls arent in the same position every time and the order of the balls change.

However i dont see why the ball has to change as well as the position

the 9 ball rack only has to be the 1 ball at the front, the 9 ball in the middle and all other balls may be placed in a random fashion...not word for word but I got this off Wikipedia and I know this myself.

a little off topic but 9 ball is a random rack. And after thinking about the suggestion, I like it random becasue no one can plan getting run outs and that as well. Although the position of the balls are tweaked everytime, someone will eventually figure out how to run the rack easily then everyones match tactic will be to do that...

different people rack differently anyway, particularly in 8 ball

ok lets say, for the 9 ball it dont really matter since the 1 and the 9 are always at the same spot, but i think it would be nice for the 8ball if the rack was not randomly placed...
