I think that we should have separate tournaments for different ranks. So i think we should have a newbies tournament, intermediates tournament and so on so that the newbies and lower ranked people have a better chance of winning any tournaments.

Pro's will just reset stats or create a new account and play only in tournaments (thus keeping them at 675 (Intermediate)) and win as many tourneys as they like.

Far too much room for abuse. Might aswell advertise having multiple accounts.

why not state which tournys have been won
ie intermediate, pro, mixed
but what about virtuoso's and the lack of in tournys

Tournies are designed to find the best player on the pool site....Therefore, it should all be mixed to truly find the player with the best capability.

Take football for example, specifically the FA cup...

It is a tournament in which every football team in England can win!

Yet only the best win it. There is no tournament for division 4 teams. They have to play their way to the FA cup final and then go onto win it!

It is the same in all these tournies, only the best win it, and if you want a chance at winning, you have to practice and play your way into winning it...

As I said, it is designed to find the best player, not the best adept or pro etc.

But the point is, a tourney finds the best player out of everyone...

This has been mentioned a lot in the past, and the simplest way of seeing why it wont work is to look at the table of tourney wins, and compare it to the players rank.

Indeed you could have someone who never did anything but play tourneys and friendlies, so sits at 675 rank, but is the best player on the site.

i can see where your coming from hfordy but what you will end up with is 2 fake newbies in the final, im sorry mate but this is some thing that will never work

the only way newbies ect are gouing to get better is if they play a better rank. With these tournaments, they are not going to get better as fast as they should be getting better ranks.

no it was a good idea it would give people lots of chances to actually win a tournement...

thank you someone who agrees, obviously it would need looking into to avoid people staying at a certain rank to enter the tournaments lower but you could perhaps make it so that the winner of the newbie tournament gets promoted so that when they play in the next tournament they have to play in the next one up and so on.....

Don't be discouraged mate. No-one is bitting your head off (violence is against the rules ). They're just giving their reasons why they think it wouldn't work.
