I think it would be a good idea if the winner of the 12 Oclock tourny on Monday 31st December 2007
had there picture and a congrads message posted on funkypools home page and remain there intill 12 oclock tourny on December 31st 2008 then the pic updated to the new winner. that would be a great fun and a challenge as i am sure most of use will be legless by then. Anyfeed back on this would be great cheers

how about for the shorter term, the picture of the winner from the latest tournament. That way a fair few people can have a go (not many people last a year on this site anyway...only 30% or so at a guess)

Only people that would be on are on the other side of the world, lol.

I very much doubt anyone would be on here UK time when the bells go.

I think that it is a stupid idea no offense because it's new years eve shouldnt every one having a great time instead of being in front of a computer why waste your last minutes of 2007 cmon people it's 2008 soon Besides it's unfair to other people because theres time locations

How would that work with this bein a worldwide site? The midnight tourny for me (in us) is at different times to other people round the world.....

Make a special one on Xmas day, i'll surely be on at night with a few cans.

Maybe something like a triple disciplinary tournament hehe.

Dude, what does it matter? you could be passed out and still beat %60 of the people here(myself included) So why included irrelevant information.....but yet again i ask, how would a special tourny work for all the different time zones?

Well, i was laid off from work and my car damn near blew up. So this place is really the only thing keeping me sane right now

Im not saying that its a bad thing...i always spend New Years wit my family. Im jus wondering bout the time differences, cuz midnight here is like 4am in UK..right?

the suggestion for this type of tournament may have been suggested before but I have an idea for a really different tournament type and maybe we could play this at Christmas or New Year (more like new year as people decide to be with family, not playing internet pool).

So at say....midday UK time on January 1, 2008, we introduce a Triathlon tournament. A race to 3 tournament where each game disapline is used. So game 1 might be 8 ball UK, game 2 9 ball and game 3 is 8 ball US. We could also have it so it is random so 9 ball might be first ect. The final would be race to 3 (or 6-each game twice). The tournament will take a while but that is no different to a marathon tournament.

Like I said, this may have been suggested before as just a tournament but seen that New Year is a special occasion, we should have a special tournament to mark it.
