Just as a thorght (my first one in months!!), in the US games of 8 ball and 9 ball (not UK), we should have cutomizeable rules for FRIENDLY games only.

Its so 2 people can just have a game with as many or little rules as they want such as the 3 consectutive foul rule, the ball hitting a rail after hitting the object ball ect. We would have to keep the time limits but this gives the US games more flexibility.

Ranked games and tournaments should be kept at full rules.

I dont think it should apply to UK 8 because I think that if you knock off any rules.....its nothing.

And I agree it should only be in the US games not UK

Perhaps just to make uk that bit harder in friendly games, the US rule of having to hit the cushion after connecting with a ball would create a very interesting game. This of course would only be an option which would have to be agreed by both players.

Taking away the rules, takes away the whole aspect of the game.

I'm with this, why should we take away rules?? It's the rules that make the game challenging.

You could. And someone else said that this will add to your ranking. Well what if it didnt?? That means its in someways easier and someways harder (not been able to combo for example) and it just adds varyation to the game.

And make it that when you create a game, you have check boxes so you can deide that you dont want the cushion rule but you might want the 3 foul rule.

I find it better in someways as people can have a fun game, and it shouldnt go towards game counts or ranking.

When you start taking away the rules in some games, you will end up with three similar games. That's what makes the site interesting; there is something for everyone.

You also have to consider new players. I remember what it was like as a newbie. It was hard enough coming to grips with some of the rules in US8 & US9 as it was.

I am not trying to take anything away from your idea, as we always like to hear member's ideas. Just my thought

Maybe it could only be avaliable for those that do not have 'newbie' status so they do learn how to play games properly and also block the feture from guests.

I've sat and read the posts, and i am now going to have to agree with everyone against this. I believe funkypool is so named 'funky' because of its fairly unique rule system.

I think there are more important features to be considered first such as the "asl" electric shock keyboard as Martin_blank suggested

oh yes please..mass produce those electric shock keyboards right away! lol

Bit specific in my opinion, plus every player is treated the same, so why blank newbies out for this?
