This may have been talked about before, i was playing 8ball speed tournament tonight, and my playing partner was in another tournament, they lost then turned up in my game with only 5 mins left, if we both didnt complete the game in the time given then as i see the rules say we both DQ from this game? how can this be fair if the other person has been waiting for a few minutes.?

I would like comments or thoughts on this

Cheers

I personally see your point. Although unless the 2 minute time limit for you to accept the invite was shortened to maybe a minute. Which would then allow there to be an extra minute allowed for the game to take place in. I really cant see it happening though.

Anyone remember the 3 minute SHOT time limit??

Anyway, i see your point crazzymadman, and i feel this would influence players to get to the game 1st in case the game came to the time limit.

A good idea that would make players more aware of the consiquences when in a tournament.

The time allowed for the game only begins when the game starts.

How long you wait is irrelevant.

The time allowed for invite acceptance is the same 2 minutes for all tourneys.

The 4 minutes allowed per game only begins after the game starts.

The two times are unrelated.

So how come near the end every room gets the same 5 minute announcement at the same time, or is that just me 'presuming' they do.

*Confused*

huh im confused too. i thought the speed tourn were 8mins long and invites had to be accepted within 3mins?

ive had people turning up after the 5min warning has come up and it is very annoying rushing your shots just so you can try and win and be in the next round or get DQ. so i know where you are coming from crazy.

ive had some players who wasnt in a tourn or ranked but in the chat room just show up in time.

dark_cloud suggestion to maybe shortening the speed invites to a minute would be a good idea and encourage people to take their invites sooner.

Got to agree with everyone else except for spinner there; in my experience it's been three minutes to accept an invite; and also the 8 minute limit begins immediately; I've been waiting for players before until it was nearly too late for them, and then shortly after they entered and the game began, the 5 minute warning came up, meaning the 8 minutes had begun when the draw for the round, and therefore the invites were issued, happened.

Whichever way you look at it, 5 minutes is more than enough time to complete one frame of speed pool because you've only got 10 seconds to play your shot.
