It's clear I've spent too long on this site when I've noticed the following:

When you play a shot with top spin and hit it hard cushion first it flies off at an angle

The balls don't always rack exactly the same

The latter point adds a sort of "real" touch to proceedings, I wonder if it's deliberate.

Also that thin grey line to the left of the baulk line is still there

I see what you mean here, you cannot seem to get it to bounce directly back at you when you hit it straight at a cushion with top spin.

This is intentional, it ensures golden breaks cannot be made even more frequently.

Also, you cant hit a shot with spin at full power.

It's because you are not making full contact with the cue ball.

But if you aim for the top of the ball with no hint of left or right and you aim at a perfect right angle to the pocket, shouldn't it some straight back?

Would the spin energy make it go off slightly after hitting the cushion?

That makes sense to me, because all the force is pushing forward and needs somewhere to go when it hits the cushion.

How about straight back?

It would technically push the ball up making it jump, this is due to the rotation of the ball forcing it to roll up the cushion. I think to counter this happening as this is not possible on funkypool, Nick has made the physics throw the ball off at a certain direction to make up for this flaw.

I would say hitting it 'without' spin would give it more chance of coming straight back, but i'm not a scientist so don't listen to a word i say!!

EDIT: Sorry dark_cloud, posted at the same time, but you back my point!
