As a trial, due to many requests, the 1300 US 8 ball tournament will today be a Marathon tournament.

The game structure will be the same as UK Marathon tournaments.

Rounds - race to 3
Quarter Finals - race to 3
Semin Finals - race to 4
Final - race to 5

If this proves popular we can consider making this change permanent.

Edit - before you ask, yes, we shall have a 9 ball marathon trial too, probably in the early hours to give our non-uk members a chance to test their endurance.

R1 = virtuoso

R3 = professional

Talk about picking the short straw
Was a fun tournament though.

Right - the 10am 8 Ball tournament will now be a marathon, just like the one today.

We will try a 9 ball marathon at 3am tomorrow GMT (27th).

Rounds - race to 3
Quarter finals - race to 4
Semi Finals - race to 5
Final - race to 6!

This will let our members from different timezone have a chance to test their endurance.

We will monitor how things go and fine-tune as we go along.

Please leave all feedback here.

3am is a bit silly, should have 8 ball marathon at 12, 9 ball at 2 pm, and uk at 4pm during day

Not if you're in the US.

3am here is 10PM Central, a nice time for a tourney.

These are all just trials. Discussions here are welcome. Obviously everyone cant have the tourney they want, when they want, but we can do our best to try.

Not at all, we will listen to everyones views. Hence the decision to offer a trial at a time more suited to non-uk players, who haven't had an evening marathon to play as yet.

Perhaps we could move the marathons around every now and then?

We cant have too many as they would swamp the other tournaments.

I'm considering a one-off reverse marathon.. sound good?
