have no idea how hard it would be to do or how likely it would be to become a funkyfeature but it would be awesome if u could have an account on funkypool that you transfer money to so you could play for real money.

Ie you put ten pound in your funkymoney account and i play someone for say a fiver and the winner gets a fiver transfered to their account. But you wouldnt be able to play for say a tenner if u had a fiver left in your account- a maximum stake of whatever is in your account (up to a certain point to stop all the gamblaholics of course b4 any1 says)

Then when you wanted to withdraw your funkymoney you could just transfer it back to your regular bank account...

Thoughts?

I'm always 100% against this site turning into a site where people can gamble, no point calling it FUNkypool if that happens in my opinion!

I think that we should be able to play for 'fun money', you start of with 100 or something, you bet on games and after you win a certain amount you can buy new things e.g, new colours on profile, new fonts for the forum...

Yeah, bad idea turning it into a gambling site. It's a family friendly site so it wouldn't go down to well. However micky07's idea is a more realistic view on it. Virtual cash, buying a new coloured cue and text writing in chat etc. I haven't got a lot of ideas but something like that would be good.

i have to say i agree with madmikes idea because u could have it set out like poker.com whereas u can have the option of playing for real money with safe secure transactions, however u can play for virtual money as well, but if that dusnt work then u can always have normal games like now and then real money games as well, people shouldnt be upset or bothered if real money is involved because after all, they DONT have to play

Well, seeing the comments I'm starting to change my thoughts of it, maybe there right because it is a family site, it's not bad but just maybe another pool gambling sight could be made

im with you john, is a bad idea, the uk is getting a bad nation for gambling bringing it on a family pool site would not be good

another good point mickey,, you need to be 18 to gamble, how many people would then lie about there age ?

I knew loads of people would be against it lol o well..

but to get round the age thing do it the same way as ebay etc and have to make a verification payment for your age of 50p or something payable on a debit or credit card registered on your name..

And as raiden pointed out you dont have to play for money it would just be a side option. Noone would be forced to play for money it would be a choice if you did.

And just because gambling is involved wouldnt make it less of a family site. Would you not take a child for a meal at a pub because there was someone playing on a fruit machine?
Or take a child to a football match because people are at the ladbrokes in the stadium?

I can respect peoples opinions on why it would be bad but it would be a free choice and wouldnt make the site any worse

Thats possibly the biggest issue of all.

It would change from a simple site you can try with the click of one button, and sign up to in about a minute, to one which requires you to be over 18, and go through all sorts of credit checks etc before you could play.

I have the feeling we wouldnt have many users that way.

Also, just look how wound up users get right now about a few rank points!!!!



The virtual cash idea has been mentioned a bit, and i quite like the idea of cosmetic upgrades (golden cue etc) but, why not "buy" these with rank points?

However, i cant think of anything else other than the cue you could change

i like the idea about the points unlocking features, i for one would like (if it happened) to be able to unlock the old 8 and 9 ball pro games.. =]

Not if you had to be a user for a month before you could play for money.
Instead of having to do it all as you sign up it could be a feature you apply for after a month or so like forum posting abilities after 100 games



That bit i can understand cos im one of the worst for that lol.
I suppose people might delete their accounts cos they lost loads of money but that would be their problem- im sure plenty of people would enjoy it is as a little flutter every now and again

i like that idea mike, where you could apply for real money games after 100 games or a month or whatever, that would be interesting, shame its unlikely to happen because there will always be critics because can you imagine playing tournaments for money

quick_pot would love the idea,, he would end up 1 very rich man lmao..


the virtual one sounds ok to me, dead against the other and that comes from a man who has a little flutter on the greyhounds everyday

on another note... the us usage would drop do to the fact its illegal to internet gamble in the US, even if you try.. ( i have) the credit card or bank card declines any transactions comming from a possible gambling site
