I think it would be awesome if Funkpool created its own A.I player. He would be of Virtuoso status with some class name. There could be special Master tournaments where you would play him in the final and if you beat him it would be on your profile. ie Master Tournaments wins or that... He could also enter tournaments at random. you could play him in ranked games also.. Think it would be awesome myself.. What you think???

Something like that has no place in a tourny, but as a practice option, an A.I player (preferably with configurable skill level) would obviously be great.
Quite a bit of work to implement tho

but surely noone would play it in ranked games lol if it can just see every angle perfect every time and perfectly weight every shot
tournys not so bad tho but not ranked i dont think

not ranked as there is too much risk in losing points, but in tourneys it could maybe work, and on practice table deffo, how it would be programmed though would be interesting, for example will it pot every single ball with perfect position etc etc, would have to be made to include random mistakes or summit, but great idea i reckon

totally dpeends on how good the a.i is really
levels would be good from completely useless to unstoppable off a break.

The hard bit isn't really the aiming, finding a clear shot and aim it perfectly is easy enough. Adding a miss rate of N percent isn't that hard either, it's just a matter of choosing the N...
The hard bit is implementing strategy, shot order and cueball positioning
And I really don't see why anyone would want an A.I player in any kind of competition at all. The fun part is to fight other human players imo, pool is not a one player game :)

Insane.
It would be perfect, perfect power, positioning and snookering.
It would get to 1000 before we even break 950.

It would be ok but if your trying to practice and your opponent is getting a run-out every time he breaks it wouldn't be that good.

That would be a freakin nightmare to code lol
It's been mentioned a few times b4 but still, it would be great

If the AI player knew how to pot every ball (even when snookered) and how not to go in-off, it would be unbeatable, because position owuld be irrevelant (except in those rare cases where no angle whatsoever will produce a legal shot)

Thanks for your commments guys.. Yeah I would love the chance to kick his (_!_) too squeezy. No matter how good he was he would be still beatable. Would probably turn into an obsession trying to beat him though
