hi, iv noticed recently the ammount of players that have deleted and come back and regreted what they have done or made a thread saying they are going to leave, how about doing one of these things 1st.
if your playing bad - take a break or watch a friend or go to main and chat.
been upset by another player - rather report to a mod or admin or put player on ignore.
in a game where your oppenent is getting lots of flukes which is annoying you - finish game and leave.
had enough of funkypool - again take a break, perhaps a few days off may help, dont delete leave account open so if you come back you dont have to re-start from a newbie.
please no nasty comments like "mind your own buisness" just trying to help all players good or bad from deleting then coming back to regret there actions, i done it last year so i no what its like.
anyone else got any GOOD suggestions please post.
thanks kev

I understand where you are coming from kev but any regrets only arise because of the current stat system. I have put up an alternative under the games queries section.

i thought about it recently but i know at some point id come back and regret it so i just log off and punch something instead of deleting lol

Maybe this thread could be the leaving thread and anyone thinking of leaving can post here as opposed to creating a thread and we can all talk em out of it

Excellent post Kev.

Porky - what on earth does the stat system have to do with deleting? You said yourself in the stats idea post that it didnt have anything to do with that!

As ou will know i have always asked for the delete option to be removed. Hopefully someday it will then the stupidity will end.

After all, its just the equivolent of jumping on the funkypooltable and shouting "ME ME ME LOOK AT ME ME ME - - PLEEEESE!"

Lets put it this way - we all know people who have really left. I know some who i used to talk to who haven't logged on since 2005.

Can anyone ever remeber a leaving thread where the user didnt come back?

Just to clarify (in the rare chance you haven't already read it!) - when i say remove the delete option, i propose it to be replaced by a deactivation system as used on many other sites.

The memebrs details would be removed from the server (to comply with the DPA) but the username and password remain, for 6 - 12 months.

This lets them reactivate of they change thier mind, and keeps the forums/results tidy, whilst avoiding "identity theft".
Obviously deactivated memebers are no longer included in any tables etc.

Combine this with auto-removal of old unused accounts and you would actually have more usernames freed up than at present.

But back to the subject - can anyone link to a goodbye thread for someone who actually left?

You will realise i cant say much more here for privacy reasons.

I think long term users will be very aware that goodbye threads often end up simply being goodbye to that username

Are becoming annoying these goodbyes threads. seen 2 this month for the same user.
Like the sound of your idea spinner, Would resolve alot of petty arguments aswell.some mebers i have seen saying attention seeking etc on one leaving thread and then on another thread they are saying goodbye will be missed etc
