loads of people say this, but its what makes the tourny's good, you dont know who you will get and gives it a f.a cup feel which is great!
and i loose to more newbies than pro's anyway

someone mentioned it last week but it is an awful idea.
If you win a tourny now itll feel so much better than if you win one where all the people you play are a rubbish standard compared to normal

also how do you determine if the newbies and intermediates just arent good players who have either reset or just dont play ranked

If you're rubbish you won't win a tournament.
If you're a newbie or intermediate playing the form of your life then you might just win a tournament, and deservedly so. (I've won my first as a pro in the low 700's (if even that), so the practice from 1-Jan-2006 to 28-Feb-2006 must have paid off!)
If you're an Intermediate or Adept player and you're on a natural rise to the top because you're so good and you've only played a few games, you'll win tournaments. Just a matter of when.
The speed tourneys are probably the best chance of winning a tourney because of the cutthroat, sudden-death nature of them. One mistake and you're gone. Just how an average player needs a far superior player to mess up, cos over 3 or 5 frames (s)he'd ordinarily be toast.

also there a many newbies around that used to be pro or adpet and have reset or changed names so hard to tell who are the true newbies and intermediates

thats why i say newbies should be banned from tournaments, should have to play 100 games before bein able to enter a tourny
