I know this has been covered before but it's still on my mind after some recent events.

How many of you take it personally if someone uses tactics against you? I lay the odd snooker for tactical reasons and at the end of the day it's why I've won as many tournaments as I have. Yet some people seem to have a serious problem with it and lay accusations of "cheat" or "lucky" if I win after forcing a foul from them following me laying a good snooker.

I will not stop doing it because it's part of my game and I know how to play this thing. Should the people who get all aggressive and start throwing insults around be banned? What do people think? It's the way some people seem to take it personally that aggravates me so much rather than the name calling.

(By the way this is not about one person who knows who they are, but has happened quite a few times before and since from several users on this site)

Funny, no one has ever said that to me when I have layed a snooker. Is there just the slightest chance that your attitude during games, or some of the comments you make in these forums, encourages this sort of response (wrong though it maybe)?

You do seem to like to remind people that you have won 'many tournaments' and 'know how to play this thing'.

Perhaps a little less self-appreciation and a little more realisation that this is only a game might help.

You have a good point.

I could count with both hands the amount of times i've snookered someone and got abuse for it.

Luckily for me, it doesn't happen anymore.

You're very wrong, and you have sufficiently wound me up which was clearly your intention but I'm not going to rise to it this time.

hes not that bad colombia if u speak to him online sometime he is a sound guy.
he has his views on things and he likes to get them across (sometimes controversially) but thats just his way.
and i have the same problem sometimes with people abusing you and tryung to distract you after you get two shots of making them foul
i just ignore them say gg and then leave or if im in a mood myself i just argue back and do the same things to them.

Fats - the intention is not to wind you up as you said. I actually agree with your point - as I do with many of them that you make. I am just trying to point out the way they always seem to read that's all.

We know you are good at this game without you needing to remind us.

I know you're referring that other thread where I recorded my best ever run of results but that was a one off.

Ok so to some my opening comment in this thread may come across as arrogant but that wasn't the intention. If you read it how it was meant to be read I was saying that I know the tactics of both 8 and 9 ball and it stands me in good stead because I'm an intelligent guy and tactics is what turns me on about cuesports. If I stopped playing certain shots because I think it might annoy my opponent then there goes my game and I don't win as often.

And if you play me you will know that I'm always fair in comments and am never rude to my opponent or try to put them off or call them lucky or any of that jazz, I go in assuming that the person I'm playing is sound. If I get abuse which is uncalled for then I either say so or ignore that user but I'm NEVER the instigator.

Yes I maybe prone to a bit of that too if I'm in the wrong mood. If I get sworn at and called names then I sometimes wait till the end of the game, call my opponent pathetic or something stronger and leave!

i think its fine i do it but sometimes when people do it too me say "sorry" whenn theres no need becasue it isn't cheating and most people who don't like it probs does it to their opponent if they have the chance

If it's the right shot, go for it. Shouldn't matter who you're playing. The only time I'm likely to apologise is if my opponent is on 2 fouls in 9 ball.
