Instead of posting here id say all those who dislike BB shud make a thread where ya can all have a good old rant about the rights and wrongs of the show. Leave this a happy thread for all BB fans.

Well, the facts were that all the "racism" was simply manufactured by the press with very careful and extensive editing in order to achieve publicity, which it did.

Anyone who actually watched the show knows what really (wasn't) said. Nice to see the real bigot get her cumuppance since though

I still enjoy the show, but what i detest is the "media circus" that surrounds it. Big Brother shows real reactions and opinions, something the "great british press" cant handle.

Did you notice how quickly poor Madeline was shunted off the front pages?

But yeah, rant over. Nice to see the effort they've put in this year. A refresh of the format was well overdue

Madeline wasnt shuttered of the front pages that quickly, as you all know, her parents wanted it Global and thats what they basically did, even if Poor Madeline was still on the front pages it wouldn't make no difference as i think the whole world knows about this now anyways.

What FACTS are you on about? When someone calls someone else a Pakie, it is racism. Why are people so blind to this?

Sorry Paula, i couldn't let that lie! Spinner gets FACT mixed up with his opinion sometimes too often.

You are completely right John. Its also racism when people are called white trash, but that seems to be so acceptable doesnt it. However in this case the facts are (as admitted by the BBC on their website at the time) that the "implied racism" was soley down to "interpetation of heavily edited footage".

In short the press was short of headline and C4 was short of ratings. Focusing on the tirade of racist abuse made by Shilpa Shetti wouldnt have made headlines so they had to carefully edit things to make it look the reverse.

People as always were gullible enough to believe what they read in the papers and saw on the news instead of actually watching the live footage (which conveniently dissapeared a day or so after it made good ratings) and had to bully innocent people into admitting something they hadn't done.

You cannot deny the facts because thats exactly what happened. What has happened since only stands to further prove those facts.

And what about the castaway program which recieved over 5 times the amount of complaints to ofcom? (remember ofcom recieved only 102 complaints about the BB incident BEFORE it was in the papers and they set up a one-click complaint system - have a look at ofcoms website now!)

Can you even rememeber the names of those involved in that much more serious and direct case?

Oh well, at least they've found a more asthetically pleasing method of gaining ratings this time

Calling someone a 'pakie' isn't racist in the slightest, I have pakistani friends who refer to themselves as pakies. Its merely the way it's said towards someone.

Saying 'Shilpa Dilpa Poppadom' could have been a lot worse to be honest and also it wouldn't have been all one way.

As for this new series, although it's not all that important, it's certainly something more cheerful to talk about on the news for a change.

As for my view on Madeline, compare Madeline to a child in Iraq and quite frankly I think Madeline's had more than enough press coverage already.

Yes i do understand where you are coming from to be honoust....I think its the fact that she was very young and innocent, and that this paticular story has caused alot of emotion around the world.

Yes and she was called a pakie in a meen, derogatory and racist way. Hence the celebrity BB being a racist show. Also being told to bugga of back to your own country might be deemed a little racist?

As for spinners point about being called white trash. Totally agree, it's racist too. I'm not screaming sorrow for Shilpa, i'm making a statement about Endamol and racism in BB house.

Regarding endemol's kidney thing - in case you haven't seen it, the whole thing was a hoax to raise awareness. Nice one.

But back to topic. Looks like they're desperately trying to change the focus this year, and so far its worked..

BB is good, I watch it sometimes, i've met a few people from last years BB and the year before, because carphonewarehouse sponsor it and I know someone who is the manager of carphonewarehouse and when a person i elected they come to carphonewarehouse and I got to meet a few people wahoo!! (It's not really that exciting to meet them lol the 'wahoo'was sarcasm)
