Well, I would say your entitled to your opinion. They are outnumbered in parliament. Ireland had rep's in westminister but they were few, and ignored (1800's..)
I'll rephrase, by 'British thing' I meant imperialism; not Britain.

I feel that this whole empire thing is medieval. Punishing people to satisfy your own pride, opressing people to fil your own ego.

That is wrong.

We can all look to the past and see the things that was done worng can't we!?

The whole medieval imperialism thing doesn't exist now, i don't think any UK country is oppressed, nor ever will be (perhaps the Welsh might but no one cares)

And while we're on the point of UK and peace, well done Tony Blair, who has finally installed peace in Ireland!
