OK, I was in round 2 of the 9 ball tournament. I got there, my opponett was there and the game started.

To start, random shot penelty to this other person. I break ..

I win the 1st game with sinking every ball as he just got random penelties.

Game 2: Again, I break, he doesnt come back. Only the 7,8 and 9 were left and in an easy position and I was waiting for the person to come back still..

With...2 seconds left, he comes back and cleans up after 7-10 shot penelties.

Game 3. He breaks, I sink a couple, i foul and there is an easy 2-9 combo to win in the race to 2 tournament.

HOW UNFAIR IS THAT???

I was playing a computer until late and the 2nd game, 7-10 shot penelties, 5 fouls and he just decides to come back and clean up.

In tournaments, it should be...3 shots absent, you DQ as I see just one during the game throws it off.

I undertand if thereis a time penelty at the start but during the game and missing 3 shots should make the other person 'away'

It was at least 5 mins and then he just comes back.

This brings up my other old argument. If a person times out on a shot, the shot should just be foul and the ball goes into the other persons 'hand' with no shot being made as some random shots made me snokered.

Its ridiclous as I have been robed. and I am on a good streak. I have been robed and we need a new system in the tournaments to keep the games as painles as possible especialy when someone else is buisy and obviously have better things to do.

Like I said, it took 5 mins to come...

I was trying to edit but i ran out of room..

It was a random shot penelty for my oponett (TELL ME HOW TO SPELL!!) and there were no balls broken so I took the 2nd shot but broke up the rack!

Ah ok. So basically you lost to a random shot generator?

I beat the random shot.

I lost when the jack nut came back near the end of the 2nd game and cleared up and got a fluke in the decider!! (Only Best of 3 games tourny)

Seriously though, considering the nature of the foul rules in US 8 and 9 ball, it might be better to award a simple foul and hand the ball to the opponent. And especially after a succession of missed shots, happened me once last year.

UK 8 ball is a bit different in this regard and would either involve being left alone or a different idea.

The system automatically ejects a player for 5 consecutive random shot penalties. So the system is already in place to deal with this. Are you sure you didn't miscount?

On this subject, has anybody else managed to get knocked out a tournament 2-1 by the random shot generator?

Can something not be done about this random shot? It seems very unfair that the opponent is either doing something else or is clearly not bothered with the game and takes the random shot. It really makes me angry when the correct ball is hit, or worse still it goes in the pocket. Can it not be made that the cueball only moves a fraction in the random shot and hits either no ball or the wrong ball?

I have said it sooooooooo many times, why a random shot penalty when we can just have a concede shot penalty??!!

It baffles me how a random shot penalty is ok.

a random shot is implemented because it plays a shot without the game crashing.example say if someone was at the door obviously you would want to go and answer it so a random shot is in place so it takes the opponents shot as they would have done.

Well, you know i hate to disagree, but i cant undestand whats wrong with it!

The simple fact is the other player has not committed a foul, therefore they should not be penilised as such.

There are many reasons people miss thier shots, for me, its usually lag.

Fact is, its extremely rare to end up worse off from an opponents random shot than you would have been had they been there to take it.

So the only person its unfair on, is the player who missed thier shot. And, as Martin said, if they miss 5 they get logged out so you get a cheap win.

You said it buddy, he came back and beat you. Fluke or no fluke. Still beaten.
Just coz you had free reign of the table in the first match doesnt make you entitled to win.
Its happened to me before, where a player hasnt been present, i thought i was gonna win and then they came back. It is a bit annoying, but in no way unfair.

you basicly got a 1 game advantage over the guy then he still beat you!

I have complained before that it should be 3 before being DQ'd.

My arguement was not that its good because you win easily (obviously not in this case) but you have to sit and play against a random shot generator. And in this case, get humiliated!

All I can say is that your opponent was obviously so good; he gave you a head start!

Well then the boot thing didnt work for me then as it definitely more than 5 shots.





OK. You go in there waiting for the jack nut (Used it again!!) and you clear up the 1st game, go into the 2nd game with 3 easy shots to clear when he decides its easy enough and then has the worlds biggest fluke on the 3rd game.

Read it first mate before you start callin people whinges.
