firstly nick wouldn't sell his site and if he did it would have to be for a lot of money because for all the hard work he's done to this site.

I've no idea, but think how much the site could be worth...

If it became chargeable, I reckon at least 50,000 of the 83,000 odd members would be willing to pay an annual fee.

Even if that fee was only £1 per month, that would mean yearly takings of well over half-a-million pounds. The numbers are growing steadily, so that figure would be expected to rise to a £1million turnover within a couple of years.

Add to that spin-off merchandise, premium, cash prize tournaments and advertising revenue...

I reckon that £1,500 probably isn't going to do it Ryan. A starting bid of around £10million would be more realistic, as you'd probably earn that back within 5 years, and have doubled your money within 10.

also don't you have to take into account about money from the adverts.

Nick makes a loss at the moment.

The adverts give about 0.01p each.

Nice to know i've contributed about 50 quid already then

When premimum comes out nick will be sitting in thailand sipping on a rather large cocktail with an umbrella in it, laughing to himself about his own genious while us lot willingly pay money for him to do so. This money will only cover the costs of his living and the cocktails, no profits will be made.

Can't really see him selling it seeing as he's about to start making money from it for the first time in about 8 years provided there is actually a successful premium update. It may all be a trick to keep us playing!

Thats the weird thing, I'm flaberghasted at the fact that premuim hasn't been released.

I think it could sell for a couple quid in a private sale but if a large corporation such as yahoo or google took interest in it for some reason you might hit 6 figures.

It actually wouldn't be that hard to get a good estimate if you knew what kind of traffic you had each day.

An hours research into the success of other sites gone premium and how much ad's generate etc; combined with a reasonable NPV analysis at say, 3 years and you'd be laughing.

realistically you wouldn't be looking at high IRR's though. I certainly don't think it's a 7 figure site, though potentially it could be worth more should a decent marketing plan be implemented.

Of course this is none of our business and we probably shouldn't be discussing it!

The potential income from it would be well worth it.

Guessing nick wouldn't sell though cuz of this reason.
