Game news

Funkypool has again grown in features, this time improving our newest game killer. A lot of user feedback has been implemented with features such as randomized player order, 3 balls to hit the cushion after breaking and safety statistics (full rules). Killer is a lot more fun than first anticipated - upto 10 players can play so there is often a lot of chat and banter as the game is played. Why not take a look at the high scores?

Killer is also now available on funkysnooker. In this case we play with 9 reds and 1 black ball on the snooker table.

You may have also noticed that US tables in funkypool have a new blue cloth. This was done to freshen up the look of the game. Fans of the old cloth need not be worried - there will soon be a choice to flick between different tables including the previous table.

Member interview

Our interview this month is with cityfan84 who has won an incredible 22,753 games of pool, 332 tournaments and is constantly very high on the overall ranking tables. He is also a member of the funkypool team.

Why do you like funkypool?
It's a great site to relax and meet new people.

Do you play in real life?
I have played since i was about 9 years old and still play to this day ,but only with mates for fun.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
I have achieved many things on Funkypool but the best one to date is the first person to reach 900 overall.

Can you give any game play tips?
If you are playing someone good try and block there balls with a few of yours. This should slow them down from clearing the table. Also take your time!!

Do you have any tips on winning tournaments?
Try not to chat too much it can put you off your game play big time.Also whilst waiting for your invite play a few friendlys with a professional, this should improve your game play ready for when you play your tournament game. Last of all is to make sure you go to toilet before your games, that can be a killer :)

Any bad habits while playing funkypool?
Talking on the phone is a big no no this is the biggest thing that puts me off. Also the football can be a real put off just can't concentrate when thats on.

Who is your favourite real life player?
efren reyes is my fav pool player, if you have seen him play you will know why, just amazing. My fav snooker player is mark williams. Being welsh helps but his long potting is just class.

And finally, please tell us a joke.
(Please note this joke is a bit rude, don't read if you're under 14 or have a sensitive nature!)
An Elephant and a snake in the jungle,
the elephant goes to the snake do you want to play snooker?
the snake goes are you a fool we are in the jungle and i havent got any arms!!
its easy says the elephant we pick a colour and then do a trick and the other one says if they got the colour or not!!!
the snake agrees to play the game and says you go first,
so the elephant says i will go for a red ball.
the snake says what are you going to do?
the elephant says well im going to stand on one of my front leg, and so he does.
the snake says well done you got the red ball.
the elephant goes its your turn now.
so the snake says im gong for the red ball as well, and for that im going to stand on my tail and shed a skin,
the snake then does it
and the elephant says well done you have a red.
the snake then replies with what colour next
the elephant says im going to go for the black.
the snake replies back with that must be a good trick to get it.
The elephant then says i will stand on a front leg then back flip onto a back leg...he attemps it and fails..
the snake then replies for my trick im goin for the black to what im going to do is go into your butt and come out your trunk...
the elephant says if you do that i will give you the black...
so the snake goes in the elephants butt and
then the elephant tucks his head between his legs and puts his trunk up his butt and says now you're snookered you fool!!!!
