I think that there should be 1 minute limit in joining a tourny game because then the tourny is quicker and people dont get annoyed by waiting in the game room waiting for the tourny oppnent!

No way, we need the 3 mins. Sometimes im buisy going to the toilet and sometimes you have to do other small important things such as, going to the toilet, get a drink, perents asking to do a quick chore.

Thats why it's three mins and just wait and use the practice table!!

Exactly, and we may need to go to the toilet. The 3 mins also means people generally get time to finish another game.

And with that other game, sometimes you need that extra time, particually if it's a ranked game.

Good idea to get the tournament moving but it has more con's than pro's

No matter how many players are in it, people will always be waiting to play.

And in speed tourny's if they come at the last second then you will only have abit of time to finish that game off! and you might both end up with DQ!

Do you get 3 minutes from the start of the round or 3 minutes from when one of you goes into the tournament game room?

I just played a game of 9-ball ranked and during the game I got an invite. Just as I sank the 9 ball I clicked on the invite and it disappeared just as I moved my cursor towards it! Anyway, the chap I was playing left the room after my obligatory cusses and managed to get to his game fine!

How is it possible?

firstly when you get a tournament invite you have to accept within 3 minutes otherwise the tournament invite disappears.one thing i suggest everyone to do is do a regular check on the tournament you have entered and if there's only a few games left it's not worth having a game because the chances are your more than likely going to get a invite when your half way though a game.

If you have 1 minute to enter a tourney game, the number of users still in will be dramatically reduced and you could be in the semi's in 3 rounds, which means tourneys will be easy to win. I generally get there within a minute, but I know for a fact that people go for a toilet break, or drinks break and wouldn't be fair if that rule got created. That rule won't get put in, I'm sure of that.

Yes of course you've got to be reasonable in it and say 3 minutes is usually just about right to go for a pee or make a cup of tea or finish your game.

The point I was making is that I knew the risks and thought I could get a game of 9 ball finished in under 3 minutes otherwise I wouldn't have started it, yet I almost made it to the invite (the game took slightly longer than anticipated and I did get the warning invite "this will expire if you don't take accept") yet I missed my invite and the person I was playing didn't miss his yet he was still in the room for about 10 seconds after my invite expired.

But you have 8 minitues and if they get there at the last second, you still have 5 minitues to finish up.

Mabye we need to 'buff up' the time to 10 minitues so then you have 7 minitues to finish!!
