buzzers in pms wud be kwl..just a thought lol. like the ones they have in yahoo. so like if sum1 wud not b responding or something n u cud buzz them. or watevs.

Please can members refrain from using "txt spk" in this forum.

The language we use here is English and it costs no more to write the full words. Decent spelling and grammar shows that you have spent time on creating your post hence you have considered what you are saying.

This also allows us to understand your query or suggestion without having to translate it and allows people who don't use English as their first language to be able to understand the threads.

I see where you're coming from with this idea, but there could be a distraction issue in game, and if someone isnt responding, then they wont get them till they are.

The previously suggested "away" and "busy" options would help people know what your up to wthout being distracting, so maybe thats an option?

Wait...if we had a buzzer in the PM window, wouldn't that make a moderators life miserable? having buzz's all the time!

I know i could adjust the sound, but i'm lazy.

Correct me if i'm wrong Angie - but the yahoo buzz isn't just a sound, it "vibrates" the PM box and brings it to the front of other windows.

Definitely not good in-game!

well what about a colour change for pm windows or and icon something that would symbolise you had a message waiting in pm but also wouldnt distract players as much as a buzing sound.
maybe also instead of pms just opening what if they went straight to the task bar and you opened it when you was ready

But we are here to play pool, not to chat like Yahoo or MSN.

What I do is minimise it but so I can still see it behind my playing window. when i see the other persos name come up while its minimized, i know that s/he has replyed

just giving a few sudjestions as to maybe resolve some problems i no its a pool site not msn and yahoo. but when your on crucial pot and all of a sudden that pm box opens smack bang right in the middle of the game can be very annoying and costly .
maybe the pm box could just go straight to the taskbar instead of opening

if the pm is minimised on the taskbar it should change colour as soon as its active - someone writing in it. then you would know straight away that they have replied - just like msn. there would be no need for sound then.

edit - sounds like im ordering or telling ppl what should be done, i'm not - its merely a suggestion

it doesnt have to flash it could just stay orange or whatever colour until you click on it so you know that someone has replied.

I think that would be cool if it changed colour or something. But not flashed or buzzing because you could be taking a shot and then it just go off lol. Hehe.
