These lyrics are incredible from the song and album Me Against The World:
With all this extra stressin, the question I wonder is after death - after my last breath
When will I finaly get to rest through this supression
They punish the people that's askin questions, and those that possess
Steal from the ones without possesions! The message I stress:
To make it stop! Study your lessons.. Don't settle for less -
Even the GENIUS asks-es questions! Be grateful for blessings
Don't ever change, keep your essence -
The power is in the people and politics we address.
Always do your best! Don't let the pressure make you panic
And when you get stranded and things don't go the way you planned it
Dreamin of riches, in a position of makin a difference
Politicians and hypocrites, they don't wanna listen!
If I'm insane, it's the fame that made a brother change
It wasn't nuttin like the game - It's just me against the world.
What does everyone else think of 2pac?

I'm not the biggest fan of hip-hop, but he was a lot better than most more recent stuff. Maybe he is slightly over-hyped though, as most dead artists tend to be (Dimebag, Cobain etc).

Cobain is very over hyped. You've heard one Nirvana song, you've heard them all. Good music, but not the messiah.
Dimebag, was very talented and is a legend for what he gave to music.
However he's only been so hyped up because of the way he died.
I'd say a musical legend is someone like Bono. Taken his influence beyond music to try and change things, may have done it to promote U2 a bit more, but hes still done something. Not forgetting the incredible length of his musical career.
Sorry for taking this Off-Topic.

Yes, Dimebag was a good guitarist, but as anyone who knows their stuff will tell you, there are a lot that are better. Cobain is regarded as a great songwriter, yet nearly all Nirvana songs are based on the same 2 or 3 chords played in different sequences. Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and Pearl Jam all showed much more variation, and played their instruments better (although still not great).
That's all I'm going to say about them in this thread. It needs to get back to Tupac.
