now only now have i started posting and i never came on here b4 so it has probably been mentioned but why dont we get points in a tourny?
to get nothing in a tournement is abit bad rly imo.
so i think you should get points 4 winning games in a tourny or something.
like i said sorry if it has been mentioned and cannot be done.

Nah, because people go in tourny's for fun sometimes and they might not enter touny's if they know points are at risk.

This has indeed been mentioned a few times, but nice to see it mentioned again.
I think having tourney games ranked would be a great idea for many reasons, not least that it would help make rank a more meaningful statistic since you have no control over who you play.
It was mentioned at one time that there were technical reasons it couldn't be done, but i'm sure Nick said the last time it was discussed that it wasn't the case, so hopefully it will come soon.

Well, for starters, you can't go over 1000 so no worries there
Also, if a player of high rank (875) plays someone lower (700) and wins 2-1, they may effectively lose a little rather than gain.
After all, it makes no difference to your rank progression whether you're playing a tourny game or a normal ranked game.
Here's Nicks post on the last thread about ranked games :

My opinion is that unranked friendlies should still exist.
Firstly so you can play a game with no real worries about the score affecting your stats (with the minor exception of wins and losses). This is good when you're not paying attention to the game (football on the box) and just want to play casually or maybe when you're giving a new user you introduced a few extra chances to help them learn.
Secondly guests can not compete in ranked games. For each game there should be rank balance eg someone gains and someone loses. Guests could have a temporary rank but still the member would be playing for a permanent score change while the guest would be playing for a temporary one.
However playing for solely ranked points does not make sense. When people reach their true ranking value why should they play more? Rankings are simply meant as an indicator of how well someone is playing.
The next area to come under attention will be tournaments. Games becoming ranked is a strong possibility. There will also be other additions which will compliment the tournaments (eg points depending on number of entrants).

Which means his rank is false. He's consistantly winning most of his games, all of which are competetive, but getting no points for it.
That means that the whole ranking table is false too. Some great players only play in tournaments, so they don't feature in the rankings at all - but are just as good as players in the top ten.
Normal points loss and gain in tourny games, calculated exactly the same as in ranked games, would redress the balance.
Also, the points gained from tourny games would be even more fairly earnt and lost, because you can't choose your opponents.
