I prefer the big US tables yet the tournaments are at times that I'm not around. Any chance of bringing more of the old style back more often or an even better idea - any chance of randomly generating tournaments to mix it up a bit whilst still keeping some kind of order so we don't get 5 uk tournys in a row for example?

I appreciate all the variety on offer but my favourite US 8 ball pro only features at 12pm (work) and 12am (bed) so I'm lucky if I get to play in any at all.

(By the way, I searched for a bit for similar topics before starting this one, just in case I get flamed for it)

the thing is the new games are that bit more popular than the older us versions, therefore the majority unlike you want an increased number of 9 ball and 8 ball tournaments. some have even suggested the complete removal of the pro games as almost nobody plays them anymore.

therefore if there was to be more pro tournaments like you ask, the majority of players would wish there to be more newer version tournaments. thus creating a vicious circle. in the end there are less pro games/tournaments because the demand isnt high enough.

I know the smaller tables are more popular but that's because they are easier to play on. I can't believe you would consider complete removal of the BETTER version of US pool, the version requiring more skill to suceed, and the one which got me hooked on the site in the first place.

It seems to me that more tournaments are required to keep everyone happy. Have one every half hour like that other thread said but on the half hour have the "pro" version of the same format. That's an idea to consider. If people moan about the pro table because they're too rubbish to play on them, then tough, they can play on the easy table on the hour!

As for the arguement about too many tournament winners (from the other thread about half hour tournys) well that's completely irrelevant - it's all about the competition and the more the better as far as I'm concerned, I love it!

This site is growing all the time and removal of the best format would not be wise in the long run, trust me.

finally another person that agrees with me!! i like the new tables but the small tables are just awsum! there needs to be more of these tournaments becausde they only happen at 3 am and 3 pm here which i cant usually catch either and i have no idea when the 8 ball pro is on -_- so yea i think we shouldnt have as many uk tournaments aswell

I think you need to change the word "small" to "big" there friend!

Also I think the best idea I've heard yet is to have the uk pool have a completely seperate schedule. That would be perfect because then every hour would have a US pool tournament and you could mix it up with the small table, big table and short and long formats and keep everyone happy.

I for one will never play the uk pool because I hate it in real life with the small white, and its just the same on here (except unlike real uk pool tables there are no warps and slopes on the funky pool tables).

Come on mods, someone respond to this, I have here the best solution of all - take UK Pool out of the US Pool schedule!

Just bumping this thread up a bit because the pro tables are actually very popular amongst the better players on funkypool so there should definitely be more of them!

Yeah I was talking about that to a friend actually. Saying that there should be more US Pro tournaments because they come once in a blue moon lol. Is simultaneous tournaments and option?

The things I'd change to the site to make it perfect are:

1) a US table tournament every hour allowing for more pro table tournaments

2) all non speed 9 ball tournaments should be first to 3

3) in the options menu be able to change your table cloth and ball colour

(Just to summarize in one post things I've said in others)
