Antony is right, not at the moment.

I've often suggestd Aliases, where you could change your username if you wanted, but just have one account, as an option to help prevent multi-using.

So i guess thats one person who would use it!

it could get abused by the less mature members though.

unless the user only has a set number of chances to change it?

Good point, an option would be to limit changes to once every 3 months or something similar.

How about sticking with the name you signed up on in the first place, or maybe delete and choose another one.

We are given a name at birth, no choice with that one, but this is a pool site. We get the pleasure of choosing our own name, so just spend a little time before doing so.

Why should we bring in option after option just to appease a few people? Will a name change improve playing style/popularity? I think not.

Cosmetic.

So just to make it clear once more, think before you pick the name! Could it be simpler?

I don't think Nick will be spending much time creating an option for people who can't stick with a simple name. There are more 'important' things like game play issues to deal with the last time i checked. You could say it's just as important in the bigger picture, but it simply isn't to be honest with you.

If the truth be known so called 'multi-using' (by my definition) isn't as widespread as you might like to suggest, and that's coming from somebody who actually has statistics/proof on the subject due to me working on the site.

Oh well...I know you are a smart guy Spinner, and i always appreciate and enjoy your input, but sometimes you give the feeling of somebody who won't budge an inch once you have you mind made up on an issue.

Multi-using (to me) is just that. Having more than one username. Whether its the only one you have at the time is irrelevant, if you ever have an account other than the one you first sign up with, you are multi-using.

"Thelordofall" described it very well over on snooker by using this analogy :

1 guy had a cat, it died, now he has another cat.
another guy has 2 cats.

Both guys are multi-cat owners

I know some people use multiple accounts to play against themselves or to make "backup" posts on the forums, at that point it stops being multi-using and becomes cheating. I know you (mods/admin) are very good at dealing with these offenses.
