I know this newbie, adept and so on goes off rank, but its stupid how someone can win a tournament and still remain a newbie, the sooner all tournies are ranked the better....one more thing the weirdest thing happened durin the final, i broke and the pack split as normal and for some reason the 9ball and another behind it went into a pocket at stupid speed? what was that all about i won the game over it but it didnt seem right cos it was abnormal...any one had this happen to them or know why this happens?

Thats just the old turbo-balls bug, happens very rarely now.
Since you won the other 3 games normally i'm sure your opponent wouldn't have been too annoyed
(please edit the language, you should have long grown out of that by now, and it will only lead to the thread being capped...)

This raises an excellent point Magic, i assume you cant edit the post because you dont moderate this forum?
I suggest that mods have the ability to edit any post on any forum, to enable offensive posts to be dealt with ASAP...

Ye but It would be so difficult to moderate the moderators!
Martin is on at least three times a day and he will edit this promptly. In the mean-time I have made it abvious that it is unacceptable as well as irregular so not too much harm can come of it.
We do have known 9 year olds browse this forum and for that reason i is completely unacceptable.
What annoys me is the ignorance of it as well as how unneccasary it is.
I disagree with editing, though I'll do it, I think that if someone can't express there view in reasonable english, the view isn't worth expressing. I think our rules are to lax, especially since this is quite an irregular occurence thanks to many moderators efforts.
If it were up to me this thread would be deleted and that dead guy would have his posting ability revoked, at least temporarily.
Just to re-iterate again why:
It's completely unneccassary!
EDIT: notice the use of *'s to get around the censor. This guy knows full well it's against the rules.

I agree. Somebody who goes out of their way to swear on a forum doesn't really deserve the courtesy of editing.
But I've left the thread running because of the debatable points 'should tournament's be ranked, and should a tournament winner automatically relinquish newbie status.'

Too right martin, I know that it will be left uncapped, as that is kind of the system. I'm just not too keen on the system in this regard!

Well there's already a thread running on the ranking thing, but as for the newbie issue, i dont think they should relenquish newbie status for winning a tourney.
How many games one wins or loses is irrelevant in deeming someone "new", its how many games played and how long they have been on the site that count.
Everyone knows i'm an abysmal player but even i have a couple of tourney wins!
