okay...erm.
Recently i just got a computer for my bedroom.....and its been freezing alot...and i found a virus on the main screen i sent it to the recycle bin then wiped it from the recycle bin does it mean its gone? or is it still on my computer? and then last night i found 2 more do i need to get one of those thingys that clean viruses away or something (ive forgotten the name tehe) pweeze help if anyone knows what i have to do

Download AVG anti-virus and ad-aware from downloads.com, run both and let them do their thing.

ive got AVG just have to w8 i think i week until i go get Norton......but now...theres another 1 :S i dunno where they are coming from and they are the same each time....i double click on them but nothing happens and my computer crashes at least up to 4 times a day...
And when i do a scan it says theres no viruses....but there is!!

Ok, its not a virus you have. It could be ad-aware (if you installed it from download.com) as that site is renouned for spyware.

Go to microsoft.com and make sure you have the latest updates. There have been a few trojans posing as xmas trials and screensavers which (since they are actively installed by the user) are getting around anti-virus systems. Microsofts malware removal tool (part of the updates) deals with em.

On a personal reccomendation, stay as far away from norton as you can! I regularly have to use AVG to clean work computers of virii which the norton suite just let through.

well you see, i actually have like...no protection on my computer (me and him live the dangerous life) but i find it helps to coax my computer into cooperating. i often stroke the monitor and whisper sweet nothings into its speakers. his name is rufus, and he hasn't had a virus yet.

lol call me crazy, but my computers never let me down . except that one time when i knocked it over and the ram fell out and i didn't know how to fix it for like 2 weeks, but was too embarased to ask any one, so i just stared at it and hit it a few times. bad rufus
