I have just installed the new I.E and for some reason i cannot log on to the game window, i've tried the java test on homepage but when i click Java it already says "high safety" and "enabled"
I've checked if java is still there on control panel under add/removed programs and it is ( Java update 9 and the latest update)
I really don't know what else to check , any help appreciated a.s.a.p.
Thanks in advance , Ste

He's the answer to everything i guess!
Hmmm you not been getting any problems
Just when i enter the game window it says , (something along the lines of)
Java disabled OR
Java not installed
Im positive they are lol. I have deffo got java so must be to do with it enabling.
1_eye , near the top of your screen does it say "Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled" wonder if this has something to do with it not loading.

If the Java detect page reports Java is working it's almost definitely not a Java problem.
Does the game window open? If not, it could be either a pop up blocker or JavaScript is disabled. (Note: Java and JavaScript are not the same)

I can open the window but not not the actual game (members bar) all that comes up is :
Java applets are not enabled on your browser
If you don't have Java, you can download from here http://java.com/en/ (please click "Java software download")
For further information you should visit the help centre for Java trouble
You can attempt to reload the game by clicking here.
The first line says :
Java applets are not enabled on your browser
But why when i go to the Java tab in custom levels on the tools icon it says "high safety" when on the java test on the homepage just says make sure "high safety" is on, Are you sure I don't need to enable anything else.
I'll check the Pop up in a sec..

OK, I misunderstood your first post.
You should visit this page:
http://www.funkypool.com/help.do?section=playing_problems
And a small Java applet should be shown. What does it show?

I followed all the enabling java methods :
Click "Tools" on the menu bar
Click "Internet Options"
Click the "Security" tab
Click "Custom Level..."
Scroll the list down. Hopefully you will see an option Java VM. If you do and have Disable Java selected instead choose High Safety
Click "OK", "Yes", "OK" then close all Internet Explorer windows before re-opening
When i got to the Java Vm it already had the box High Safety ticked.
But when i return to the Java applet it says:
You are not running Java. It is either not installed, or it is disabled. Follow the instructions below to get it running

Probably worth restarting your machine (if you haven't already).

"Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled."
Internet Explorer is running with add-ons turned off. If you want to allow add-ons, close Internet Explorer and re-open it normally.
Are you using vista?
This could also shed some light:

Sorry for butting in, but have you gone to Tools/Manage Add Ons, and enabled Java from there?
Even when you change security settings sometimes certain applets need to be enabled manually..

Go to add/remove programs, and uninstall Java. Restart, then re-install it.
Sorry if you've done that before but worth trying again!

Btw that link Nick was great for the fact that the guy who typed it is having exact same problems with me (how to enable add ons, the running script disables) so im glad it isnt just me!
Spinner, would it be easier just to remove this new internet explorer and return to the old one which i was happy with or is it not as easy as that?

You can roll back IE if you like, but i've always reccomended IE7 for FP, found it to be very stable and fast.
It used to be clear in the downloads section that you had to uninstall plugins etc then re-install after installing IE7, but now its a simple update thats gone.
Have a go at clearing out Java and starting from scratch with IE, should work fine..

Right, back to normal now but the only thing is now i cannot download java update 10 as i click on the java site and press download but it jst isn't working , all it says is "checking configuration" for past half an hour (note im on a good broadband) Dunno why it's doing that when it states it#ll take 3mins!! Nothing seems to be happening,
Tha java test on the homepage tells me Verdict: Success when on pool/snooker the balls are blurry meaning i don't have the latest update. Please help.

No thats nothing to do with the update. The java sites forever giving that problem with 'checking configuration' the balls are blurry? do you have lag at all?

Your java properties:
Java version: 1.6.0
Java vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc.
Operating system: Windows XP
VERDICT: success
You could try the very latest java, 6.0
Edit: better link.
